In certain cases, this ability to combine the finesse of high quality print
with the strength of corrugated, can remove the need for additional
outer packaging. Cartonboard and cartons also have the advantage
that printing quality and converting options convey products’ charisma
on the shelves. A high percentage of products in supermarkets are not
supported by other forms of adverts in terms of communication so
this is where packaging can provide the necessary rewards.
Corrugated cardboard is generally used for shipping, and solid board (folding box board) is often used for presentation packaging and can be litho printed.
Litho Laminated boxes give your products both the protection and the visual impact providing excellent print quality using full litho print. These processes print your bespoke artwork directly onto a quality paper, creating a photographic quality image which is then laminated onto the corrugated cardboard.
Screen printing is a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of polyester or other fine mesh. A number of screens can be used to produce a multi-coloured image or design which makes it ideal for large bold imagery and generally suited for smaller production runs.
Flexographic (or Flexo) printed packaging is printed directly onto corrugated sheets using a range of biodegradable and Pantone inks. As Flexo printed boxes can be produced at a faster rate, these cardboard boxes tend to be more cost effective and have fewer size restrictions than their litho printed counterparts.
